A public platform celebrating art & design in East London
For the very first time, and hopefully the first of many, the lovely Netil House is involved with London Design Festival. The East London focus of the festival is this weekend, so the guys at Netil House thought it would be a good idea to break out of their building and experiment by creating a public platform on the Mare St Triangle!
It’s a public plaza which SPACE, Netil House and The Trampery London Fields all overlook. A collaboration seemed like the best way to go, a chance for Netil House to work with their neighbours and promote the incredible practitioners who work in their buildings and make up their community. On Friday 13th September, the pavilion will open its doors for an opening night, sponsored by Belenkaya Vodka and they’ve invited the wider art and design community as well as all of our neighbours and like-minded organisations in the area.
Over the course of the weekend, the pavilion will play host to a Think Tank to Re-imagine the Mare St Triangle, a light installation, a live art performance, a fashion accessory workshop, a photography exhibition and a mobile trailer darkbox.
Each event is free, open to all and interactive. A chance for each artist and designer to share insight into their creative process with members of the public, an opportunity for unusual interactions to take place in the middle of a Hackney pavement. Check the full programme and try not to miss it!
