The Camberwell Free Film festival is back this spring running for 10 days (from 20-30 March 2014) in various venues across SE5. Camberwell Free Film Festival 2014 is run by volunteers, events are 100% free and it is a unique opportunity to see selected films while exploring quirky, local venues.

This time, screenings are quite diverse ranging from last year’s controversial film (Blue is the Warmest Colour) to B&W horror films (The Innocents) and family-favourites (Oliver!).

See below for what’s on but hurry up as Festival comes to an end this weekend!

  • 25th March – Suspiria & Possession – Horror Double Bill | The Cambria (don’t miss this hidden gem of a pub that will make you feel like you live in the 1920s!)
  • 26th March – The Innocents | Saint Giles Church
  • 27th March – Kwaidan | Saint Giles Church
  • 28th March – Once In a Lifetime: The Extraordinary Story of the New York Cosmos | Dulwich Hamlet Football Club
  • 29th March – Charlie Chaplin Shorts & Underground | Salvation Army, William Booth College
  • 29th March – Blue is the Warmest Colour | Flying Dutchman
  • 30th March – Oliver! | Salvation Army, William Booth College
  • 30th March – Stories We Tell | The Phoenix

All events are FREE but make sure you arrive promptly for a good seat (last year’s visitors were more than 1500; you don’t want to risk it, do you?)

For more information email Victor at cwellfilmfest2013@gmail.com or follow Camberwell Free Film Festival on Twitter (@CWell3FilmFest) for last minute updates.

Camberwell’s Free Film Festival kick starts this season with a packed schedule followed by festivals later in the year in New Cross and Deptford, Herne Hill and Peckham and Nunhead.

Stay tuned and see you there!
