A brand new art Market is coming to town
This weekend, the organisers of Stoke Newington’s hugely popular Hackney Flea Market launch a new D.I.Y. Art Market. A new bi-monthly market that’s a celebration of London’s emerging independent artists/makers, championing original/unique items, a market for lovers of all that is D.I.Y. and self published. It will be a place to discover a new wave of artists/makers, all exhibiting, and peddling their wares at an affordable price.
Expect to find, self-published publications, ceramics, illustration, photography, jewellery, record labels, hand puppets, outsider comic art, zines, D.I.Y. goods & clothing, masks, odds, ends, and undefinables. This month’s exhibitors includeAmple Play Records,TinyPencil, Kimberley Fountain,Belly Kids, Georgia Sawers,Eleni Kalorkoti, JaneSmith,Luna Noir Jewellery, Hannah Prebble, Duvet Days Clothing,Sandra Dieckmann, Sam Baldwin, Olivia Bishop, Avery Hill Publishing, Wobbly Rock SmallPress Publishers. As well as D.I.Y., local DJs will be playing a suitable obscure selection of modern & long forgotten treasures, and Hackney bakers ‘Yolk’ will be on hand to wet your whistle, fill your tummy, with drinks, and an array of tasty homemade delicacies.
The market is free, so everyone can come along, meet some fantastic artistic talent, see some wonderful things, and buy direct from the makers! Doors open at 11am. It will be full of innovative and inspiring stuff for sure.
