This Valentine’s Day, love doesn’t have to cost a penny thanks to the free ‘Romance & Doughnuts’ Candlelight Concert in Wembley Park. Taking place from 6.30-7.30 pm on Tuesday 14th February 2023, at the Sound Shell on Wembley Park’s iconic Olympic Way, the free concert will feature musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Brent Music Academy along with performances by alt-pop duo Freddie Joon & Clayton.
With candlelight, world-class music and a stunning light installation in the Sound Shell by local Brent artist Yoni Alter, love will be very much in the (open) air in Wembley Park.
Setting the tone for the evening ahead, young musicians from Brent Music Academy will be performing new pieces of music written during workshops with a range of Royal Philharmonic Orchestra professionals, taking to the Sound Shell stage from 4.30pm-5.30pm.
A stunning performance by musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra will then commence, playing a selection the finest and best-loved pieces of romantic music. They will be followed by performers Freddie Joon & Clayton, a couple in real life having met and bonded through their love of music. The duo has a special line-up of love songs from the likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Elvis Presley, and Tina Turner in addition to original material, prepared to entertain and delight the audience.
As if all that wasn’t romantic enough, beneath the spectacular Wembley Stadium arch and the stars up above, local business Bread Ahead is providing free hot chocolate and doughnuts for the first 100 people to arrive.
