Benefits Awareness Month - Broke in London

Benefits Awareness Month

April is the Benefits Awareness Month

If some of you are currently getting or planning to get a benefit (council tax, housing benefit and so on), you better read carefully ! From April 2013 (to 2016), major changes are being made to the benefits and tax credit system affecting millions of people in the UK, maybe also you and your friends. As we all know, understanding bureaucracy and new legislations is extremely tiring and complicated and it’s definitely something you want to pass as fast as possible! Well, the good news is that April is the right month to do it! April is for instance the Benefits Awareness Month. What does it mean? Simply that you’ll get to know more about the upcoming changes affecting each benefit. You’ll be also explained how to manage your benefits by using website resources. This useful initiative is organised by Turn2us. You can start inform yourself by having a look at the Benefits Awareness Month’s website: for example, you can first take an easy and fast questionnaire to check if you’ll be affected by the changes and then look at the Fact Sheets to know more about the changes to each benefit in details. Hope you’ll still be able to claim your benefit!!
