Celebrating the culture of black and ethnic minority communities across London
article by Afroditi K
Black History month is back and once again there is a great programme of music, films, talks and family activities to celebrate the culture of black and ethnic minority communities across London. You will have the chance to meet influencing writers, see films that will change the way you think and even have a go at making your very own African mask!
How about the chance to see some thought-provoking films and discuss with Birkbeck University’s lecturers? According to their website, this season of films and panel discussions tackles issues, stereotypes and historical assumptions that have burdened the Black community. Films will be shown every Thursday throughout October and the entrance is free although you are advised to register in advance!
A lot of councils organise local events; click through full listings to find something near you!
