An art festival born of Deptford’s creative community
Creativity feeds off restriction. Even in times of austerity, art is the voice of the people to persuade, to protest, to empower. We are all in this together – Art makes people powerful!
Deptford X, the arts event born of Deptford’s creative community, has attracted over one million visitors to date, and has seen some of the greatest artists from around the globe working together with the unique pool of creative talent in Deptford and south east London.
Highlights of the festival include new work by Bob & Roberta Smith, in addition to work by Associate Artists Dan Holliday and Bernadette Russell. Deptford X 2013 will be presenting two group exhibitions and showcasing an extensive Fringe programme throughout festival. It will also launch a unique, large scale event with a cast in excess of 100 collaborators.
Things to look out for this weekend are Bernadette Russell’s 366 Days Of Kindness Project at the Albany, loads of open studios and over twenty Deptford X Fringe projects in shops, cafes and many more public spaces.
