Horror, culture and emotion in October

monthly column by Afroditi K.

October is an interesting month film-wise with so much going on. As October is Black History Month, there are a lot of films in this list for social awareness. Add to that London’s Indonesian festival organised by SOAS University and there should be enough to satisfy those of you who want to avoid Hollywood blockbusters! October is also all about Halloween so you will find a couple of horror films towards the end of the month – and there is even some dress-up involved.

There is this new concept introduced by Belle&Co: movie and a movie-inspired cocktail for a fiver. Dress up and get in the mood for some cocktails and old-school movies! If your costume is quite impressive, your cocktail will come free of charge (that is some motivation right?).
