Free Film Screenings in London May

May the force be with you!

I couldn’t resist the title really. I have a personal bet where I have to come up with an as-cheesy-as-it-gets title every month (and this one definitely beats November’s “Tea, sympathy and a nice film” which was my favourite so far)!

Back to the film world, you have to love May. The days are super long, temperature has picked up and you tend to gravitate towards outdoor places. Apparently, May is also statistically the most popular month for a film festival (followed closely by September!). That is why you will see 3 different film festivals featured in our list this month. Free film festivals are organised this year in New Cross and Deptford (hurry up through as this one ends on Sunday!) and in Herne Hill. Genesis Cinema celebrates 15 years of existence and has announced some very cool films (make sure to book a seat ASAP as tickets sell out fast!)

Where will I try to be this month? You will probably see me among the crowd singing along Grease songs in this Saturday’s bike-pedalled version. Also, I am trying to keep Friday 16th free in my diary as I think it is finally the opportunity to watch the Big Lebowski – everyone else seems to have seen it already and the Dude has quickly turned into a classic!
