Looking for something different to do this weekend? Well, why not grab yourself a ‘Boris bike’ – or as they are less popularly known, a Santander Cycle – and take one out for a spin around the city. For both Saturday (13th) and Sunday (14th), the bikes are free to ride for up to half and an hour, saving the initial £2 hire fee. After the first half an hour, the price returns to its standard rate of £2 per half hour. There are details of how to get the discount on the Santander website.
Prefer your cycling to be stationary? Santander are also bringing back their free spinning classes – which are brought in partnership with BOOM cycle – to the London Bridge Festival, between the 17th and 20th of August. The classes are free and there is no need to sign up, just turn up and give it a go!
The Santander Cycles are a great way of getting around the city and sight-seeing without having to pay costly tour guides. For some great self-guiding routes, check out the TFL website, or for more inspiration, why not check out these great, scenic London locations, which are all easily reachable by bike.
