Celebrating LWW, drink wine on the house and in a box, courtesy of Aldi

When many of us get to a certain age, there are only three words that we are interested in hearing: “FREE WINE HERE”. However, it may come as a surprise to many of you that the issuer of such an enticing promise would be Aldi, the budget German retailer that has become increasingly popular in the UK in recent years.
As part of the London Wine Week (23rd-29th May), Aldi will be distancing themselves from their “cheap-plonk-for-swigging-down-the-park” image and will instead be setting up shop in Boxpark, Shoreditch. Looking to appeal to the crowd normally found at the inaugural home of the hipsters, Aldi will be holding events from Thursday to Saturday, including a free sample of up to 20 wines, a tasting masterclass and a wine and cheese pairing.
Free wine? Check. Swanky location? Check. Hipsters recounting tales of a visit they took to Aldi once? Well, we could do without it but the offer of free wine is enough to tempt us/block out their voices.
What: Free wine samples courtesy of Aldi.
Where: Unit 26, Boxpark, 2-10 Bethnal Green Road, E1 6GY.
When: Thursday 26th – Saturday 28th May 2016, 11am-7pm
