Little Wing Film Festival Returns to Champion Grassroots Cinema - 5-9 October - Broke in London

Little Wing Film Festival Returns to Champion Grassroots Cinema – 5-9 October

Little Wing Film Festival is back for its 6th year championing grassroots cinema and emerging filmmakers. For the first time being 100% in-person since 2019, this community-led festival is back touring Everyman Cinemas across London from October bringing short films back to the big screen and supporting industry regeneration post-pandemic. If you’re a lover of new films, undiscovered gems, and supporting independent creators – this one’s for you.

From October 5th to 9th, Little Wing will travel to Everyman Cinemas across Borough, Baker Street, Canary Wharf, Crystal Palace, and King’s Cross, showcasing diverse curated short film programmes, live music with emerging musicians, parties, quiz nights, workshops and more! Exploring themes that young filmmakers are choosing to spotlight at the moment, from the NHS carer crisis and gender exploration, to men’s mental health and breastfeeding sex workers, it’s a jam packed programme of fresh, progressive filmmaking with future household names in film.

Check out a few highlights below and the full programme and tickets here.

Lush couches, live music and a welcome back to the cinema, Opening Night kicks off at the new Everyman Borough with a brilliant selection of films to ring in the week. Not free on the 5th? Closing Night on the 9th brings the final weeks screening, awards night, and live music to see out the festival!

Little Wing Film Festival

A night exploring film as a medium for social change, this harrowing, hopeful, and inspiring programme culminates in a Q&A with filmmakers, activists, and campaigners to spotlight how we can build a better world through cinema.

Catch undiscovered gems and big names collaborating with students and emerging directors including Tom Glynn-Carney (House of the Dragon), Owen Teale (Game of Thrones) and Allan Mustafa (People Just Do Nothing).

Anyone finding the cinema ticket price a barrier to engaging with the festival in the current climate can utilise Little Wing’s free and pay-what-you-can ticketing scheme. You can watch the full online programme for free or a few quid, join their events, and enjoy brilliant independent film at home. Film is for everyone.

Quizheads, film buffs, and useless general knowledge hoarders – this one’s for you. Ticket holders can join their quiz night on Friday October 7th, hosted by filmmakers and the festival team with prizes up for grabs!

Discover new films, support emerging filmmakers, and join Little Wing in celebrating grassroots cinema.
