Grab a beanbag and make the most of your summer evenings
By Laura McLean (@Laura_D_McLean)
Don’t let the rain get you down, next week the summer weather is set to return and so is the Paddington Central summer film festival!
If you’re anything like me, after a long day in the office there’s nothing nicer than kicking back on the sofa to watch a good movie. Unless, of course, you throw in a beanbag, popcorn and an outdoor screen…
Struggling to entertain the kids?
On Saturday 29th August, why not pack a picnic and bring the whole family down to the amphitheatre in Sheldon Square to watch the heart-warming tale of a very famous little Peruvian bear, Paddington. Don’t forget to bring along your favourite teddy bears too!
Who doesn’t love a bit of Abba?
Looking for something to get you through the week? Why not get the girls together on Wednesday 2nd September for the hit musical Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep, Colin Firth and Amanda Seyfried. You’ll be singing along to all the Swedish group’s classics in no time.
What else will be shown?
Matt Damon stars in Thursday’s film, We Bought a Zoo. The story is loosely based on the memoir of Benjamin Mee who purchased a dilapidated zoo with his family and reopened it to the public.
The final film of the festival, which takes place on Friday night the 4th of September, will be the 1985 sci-fi cult classic – Back to the Future. So make sure to grab a bean bag or deck chair as soon as you can!
What time are the screenings?
All week day film screenings begin at 18.30 and Saturday’s screening of Paddington will take place at 15.30.
