July has everything from Circus acts to summer festivals and more than enough to keep you occupied. Ignore the weather and enjoy these free events in London, rain or shine!
Canada Day International | July 1st, 10:30am-10:30pm, Trafalgar Square
A celebration of all things Canadian: a pancake breakfast, live music, hockey matches and poutine (French fries + brown gravy + cheese curds…yum?)
Hoop La La | July 3rd, 12:30pm-8pm, Devonshire Square
How many chances do you get to see Guiness Record Holding professional circus performers? Not many, I promise. If you play your cards right you might get to give it a go, yourself!
Meschac Gaba: Museum of Contemporary African Art | July 3rd-September 22nd , Tate Modern
“A 12-room installation which reflects on the nature of the museum and blurs the boundaries between art and the everyday.” The exhibition marks the Tate’s acquisition of the Museum of Contemporary African Art.
Summer Streets on Regent Street | Every Sunday in July (7th,14th,21st,28th)
Every Sunday in July Regent Street becomes a pedestrian only zone, with activities for all ages. Each Sunday follows a different theme:

July 21st: The Street is My Catwalk (in association with the V&A)

Guest DJ, Late Shift | July 18th, 6pm-8:45pm, National Portrait Gallery
The National Portrait Gallery stays open late every Thursday and Friday night. Thursday, July 18th you can hang out in the Late Shift Bar and listen to live vinyl DJ set by guest DJ Stan-ley
Park Acoustics | July 20th 3pm-9pm, Southwark Park
A series of sonic events (informal performances, readings, food and installations) that engage with Southwark Park. Presented by the South London Gallery in association with the Woodmill.
Lambeth Country Show | July 20th-21st 11am-7pm, Brockwell Park
Nine zones of the festival include art, music, theatre, sports & games, food, animals, horticulture and more. What more could you need?
Digital Workshop: Manga Comic Workshop | June 23rd, 11-1pm & 2pm-4pm, The British Museum
Booking is advised for this 2 hour workshop where you will create your own manga-inspired comic characters!
V&A Friday Late Series: Peckham Takeover | July 26th, 6:30pm-10pm. V&A
This is the second part of a four-part series examining London’s established creative communities. Friday the 26th highlights Peckham, a diverse creative community in South East London that has long been overlooked.
Sou Fujimito’s Serpentine Pavillion | Until October, Serpentine Gallery, Kensington Gardens
Every summer brings with it a new Serpentine Pavilion and this year’s is an incredible cloud-like structure that has been compared to a “data cloud.” On a sunny day head to Hyde Park to sit on the pavilion and watch the world go by!
