Struggling for ideas this Easter weekend?

Easter is fast-approaching people and you don’t want to spend it indoors while the rest of London is hunting for chocolate eggs just because you didn’t plan it in time! We knew this would happen so we’ve searched relentlessly and bring you our pick of the coolest outdoor events in town. The “no money” excuse is not valid either as the list below definitely comes in under budget so you can spend a couple of quid on that fresh lemonade (or a frozen margarita; hey, we don’t judge!) you absolutely need!
#1 Berwick Street’s Record Store Day 2014 |Saturday 19th| Soho
Berwick Street’s mini festival is back!
Join independently-owned record shops in Soho and artists as they celebrate their love for music. This year’s line-up is exciting (especially for me!) as The Augustines will be performing live among other names that day. There will be parties, DJs, music quizzes, vinyl fairs, Napoli-style pizzas and clothing discounts.
Berwick Street also known as the “Golden Mile of Vinyl” back in the 80s is a go-to point for any vinyl collector so last year this event was a blast having attracted a happy mixed crowd of people!

#2 Kansas Smittys Bank Holiday Backyard BBQ | Friday 18th| Dalston
Kansas Smittys promise “This good friday is going to be deliciously bad…” <- we like that! If you arrive between midday and 2pm, entrance is free and you can treat yourself to their delicious-sounding julep bar. They will have 8 different recipes on offer (nom! nom!) and each one of them is going to be served with crushed ice in a signature Monty-cup (Do you ask what a Monty-cup actually is? One for you to discover during the day!)

#3 The Lock Tavern Festival | Thursday 17th – Sunday 20th | Camden
Some pretty big festival names support this 4-day extravaganza of live music and DJs: Field Day, Beacons Festival and Lagunita’s Brewery. Parties will spread over two floors and on top of that you will find food stalls in the garden, outside bars, photography and art exhibitions. Ace!
Tickets have already sold out for this one but the venue has promised to let you in if you get down at a reasonable time on each day.

#4 Ping! London | Throughout April | London
Celebrate with a free game under the sun as the Ping-Pong season kicks-off this weekend! Find your closest table (bats and balls will be provided for free on the sides of the table) here and why not explore a new area at the same time?
A few places you could head to that would make a nice day out are:
a. Old Royal Naval College, 2 outdoor tables located by The Old Brewery. Bats and balls can be collected from the pub
b. Victoria Embankment Gardens

#5 Feast of St George 2014 | Monday 21st | Trafalgar Square
Head to Trafalgar square this coming Monday to find an English farmer’s market and a banquet area ready to seat 250 people. Celebrate St George whose story is closely linked with England. There will be live music and lots of kids (or older kids 😉 activities.
And you can even pick up a tip or two from leading London chefs as they will cook up English dishes!
