There are plenty of interesting free events in London this weekend 8-10 May 2015. This time we’re excited about Takeover, the radical publishing event which will take place on Saturday in a old Victorian warehouse in Bermondsey as well as the Urban Village Fete in Greenwich Peninsula Square on Sunday. Moreover, on Saturday there is the free outdoor screening of the Grand Budapest Hotel at Brockwell Lido part of the Herne Hill Free Film Festival and on Sunday a nice live music day at The Old Queens Head in Islington. Finally, the whole weekend you can enjoy the livelier side of science with hands-on research activities, talks, music and dance at the Imperial College London. ►Takeover 2015 at 47-49 Tanner Street – Sat 9 (12pm – 7pm)
A great free event that celebrates UK’s radical publishing and self-publishing communities.
►Outdoor screening of Grand Budapest Hotel at Brockwell Lido, SE24 0PA – Sat 9 (starts at 8.30pm)
A free outdoor screening of Wes Anderson’s comedy (doors open at 8pm and it’s first come, first served, so go early)
►Urban Village Fete in Greenwich Peninsula Square, SE10 0ES – Sun 10 (noon – 7pm)
A contemporary twist on the traditional village fair with music, art, innovative events and modern craftsmanship.
►eARmusic Sunday Social at The Old Queens Head, Essex Road, N1 8LN – Sun 10 (2pm – 11pm)
A full day of live music featuring great upcoming acts like Keo & The Movement and Victor & The Rain Dog.
►Imperial Festival at Imperial College London, SW7 2AZ – Sat 9 & Sun 10
A nice annual science festival with hands-on research activities, talks, music and dance for all ages.
