A new Christmas market is coming to Hackney
Christmas comes to Hackney Central on Friday 5th December and runs until Sunday 7th December 2014 with the advent of Winter Village, Hackney.
A new 3-day Christmas market, it has been curated by the team behind Soho Flea Market and last year’s well-publicised Dalston Christmas Market, which drew a wow from the arts and lifestyle crowd but quickly outgrew the space in Dalston Square and so this year has been relocated to Hackney with a new identity.
The event will showcase an array of creative talent, including many local designers and will include the new generation of artisans, fashion and jewellery designers, makers of leather goods, artists, ceramicists, card makers and tons of alternative Christmas gift ideas including children’s clothes and toys.
Winter Village, Hackney, is being held in the grounds of St John at Hackney church and the surrounding area. Winter Village also features a live soundstage, hosted by City Showcase – the all-round festival of new music – featuring breaking artists as well as local school choirs. There will also be other attractions such as a gourmet food court, bar featuring specialist beers and ciders, a coffee shop, Santa’s Grotto in the church, donkey rides and an indoor massage area, provided by Hackney Fashion Hub.

All this just a short walk from Hackney Central station, Hackney Empire, Sutton House or the famous Broadway Market.
