Ten £10,000 Bursaries Up for Grabs from HSBC
With almost three quarters of universities in England planning on charging the maximum £9,000 per year tuition fees according to Office of Fair Access figures, budgets couldn’t be being more squeezed for the countries first year higher education students. Not only do you have to consider the fees but also living costs, resources such as stationary and textbooks and let’s not forget an entertainment budget so students still get to have the full university experience.
HSBC is offering the chance for 10 students to win a £10,000 cash through the HSBC Student Bursary Competition 2013! In recognition of skills and talents of UK’s first year students, the well known bank is looking for students with potential to invest in. It’s simple to enter the bursary competition – create either a 90 second video or a series of 6 photographs showing how a £10,000 bursary would help you enhance your potential.
The competition judges include HSBC general Manager Brendan Cook, Jo Fedfern Commercial Director of UCAS and Rachel Wenstone Vice President (Higher Education), NUS and two entrepreneurial gradates Caitlin Bawn and Lucy Warnock.
There are three main areas which the judges will be scrutinising the entries for: originality, passion and relevance, so make sure yours stands out with your own style and personality shining through. Just because there’s £10,000 at stake don’t think your entry needs to be too complicated – keeping it simple and concise is the best route to a clear message. Don’t forget that getting other people’s opinions on your submission is a great way to review and edit your entry to create a top notch submission.
Most importantly smile and relax! Whether it’s a video or photographic entry, take a deep breath and keep calm – a bright, enthusiastic, smiley face will really show your passion for your talent and your desire to develop your potential into something really special.
