Maslenitsa Festival London 2013

Maslenitsa Festival London 2013 on Saturday 16th of March

What does “Maslenitsa” mean? Probably only our Russians fellas may have a clue of what we’re talking about..  Maslenitsa is the Russian Sun Festival, a celebration of the end of winter chills and the start of Spring, of warmth, of hope, of growth! This year, the celebration is coming to London from the 11th to the 17th of March. During these days, the capital will host a series of events, including music, food and craft. You can get more info by checking Maslenitsa’s official website. What’s important to remember is that on Saturday the 16th of March from 1.30pm Maslenitsa will take over Trafalgar Square for an afternoon of free public events. You’ll be able to explore traditional Russian arts, culture, music and food including the ‘blini’ (a sort of pancake). Check out the Facebook page of the event and give a shout to your friends!
