Buying the Necessities

See how far that five pound note in your pocket will take you!

by Gemma Davey

So, you’re new to London, you’ve found a flat, and now you’re realising that you need the basics, the items that fill your house that you never really think about but use them everyday; your soaps, your cleaning supplies, your shampoo, and maybe even a pack of lighters. Going to the local grocery store for these supplies can add up quickly, so go to the store next door, your local 99p Store or Poundland.

Being new to London a 99p Store may not be a place that you’re accustomed to going to, in some places of the world it’s full of items from brands you’ve never heard of and have probably been expired for about five years. But don’t be afraid, once you go inside you’ll find it full of everything you need to make your home functioning and, most importantly, from brands you know! As the name alludes to everything in the store is under a pound, so you’re really able to go in a stretch your budget.

So don’t be afraid! Go in, take a look around and see how far that five pound note in your pocket will take you, you’ll be surprised with what you find!
