Living Room Free Film-Making Popup on Brick Lane - Broke in London

Living Room Free Film-Making Popup on Brick Lane

Do a good deed, film the action and get yourself a free hot drink and mince pie!

Christmas is in the air and it’s the perfect time to do good this weekend.  The Shoreditch-grown video-editing app FrameBlast celebrates this month’s festivities in a cosy style on Brick Lane. As they transform the Truman Brewery’s Shop into a homely pop-up space Living Room, they plan to treat everyone to a free hot drink and a mince pie.

The challenge? Featuring a Christmas tree adorned by good deeds to be done in the local area, Living Room invites people to pick one, film and edit the action with FrameBlast and share the story, while FrameBlast show them how to easily shoot and edit in the comfort of the cosy living room itself – and on their own smartphone (iOS and Android version 4.3 or newer). To add to the festive challenge, the impossible app will deliver wishes from near and far. How many wishes can people truly fulfil over the weekend?

The retro-inspired room will be turned into a series of mini domestic studios, where Scrabble may transform into a stop motion Christmas message or where vintage accessories may inspire a film noir short for a loved one.

The event is free. All people need to bring is a charged smartphone, an open mind and preferably a big heart and a woolly jumper too.

All films made and shared will be screened in the Living Room throughout the weekend, and the very best 3x films made on the day or shared online will win a shiny new smartphone each – as a little Merry Christmas from FrameBlast.
