“Where is the Street Museum of Art?”, asked the tourist. “Basically it’s all around London!”, answered BrokeinLondon. Yes, we’re not joking! SMoA is a sort of an open air museum, where the city’s streets have become gallery walls. This also means that admission is always free and the visiting hours are limitless! The idea behind SMoA is to challenge previous methods of exhibiting street art, by adopting the guerrilla tactics of a street artist in a program of curated exhibitions. Rather than visiting a museum, you can walk around London and feel like walking through a public street art exhibition space! That’s a great idea, isn’t it? SMoA is currently presenting – throughout the streets of Shoreditch – its second exhibition “Beyond Banksy: Not Another Gift Shop“, featuring works from C215, Christiaan Nagel, Eine, Mobstr, Pablo Delgado, Phlegm, Roa, Run, Skewville, Space Invader, Stik, and Swoon.
