The Venice Biennale has for over a century been one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world. For most of the artist, it’s more like a dream to exhibit a piece there. Although it is very difficult to get accepted if you aren’t an established artist, there are also alternative ways through which you can promote your work there. Artquest has created a programme for artists that are going to visit the 2013 Biennale. They’re seeking a UK based artist to create a new piece of work for the window of their venue, a café right in front of the main entrance of the Biennale. The selected artists will receive a £3,000 bursary to cover fee, expenses, travel, materials, work transportation costs and accommodation in Venice. All you have to do is to propose a new piece site-specific 2-D work for the window space. The deadline for proposal is 10am Friday 1 February 2013.
