There’s nothing more Christmas-y than the twinkle of lights and though high streets up and and down the country normally have some lights, London always manages to really pull out the stops. Obviously, it’s also completely free to check them out and can be a great way of seeing the rest of London at the same time. We’ve put together a list of our favourite five Christmas light displays for you to enjoy.

#1 | Oxford Street Christmas Lights

1,778 glowing baubles that hang above the length of Oxford Street. This year however, they are also joined by stars, provided by this year’s charity partner, NSPCC. Find out more about donating and dedicating a star to a loved one here.

When: Switch on is Sunday 6th November 2016.
Where: Oxford Street.


#2 | Regent Street Christmas Lights

The so-called “Mile of Style” will be dressed to impressed this Christmas with a display of lights unrivaled by any other, going this year with the cryptic theme: The Spirit of Christmas. It is apparently a throwback to the first set of lights hung on the street at Christmas back in 1954.

When: Thursday 17th November, 2016.
Where: Regent’s Street.


#3 | Southbank Christmas Lights

As well of loads Christmas lights to enjoy, the Southbank also hosts a market of German-style chalets, selling crafts, gifts, food and mulled wine to make things feel even more festive.

When: Friday 11th November, 2016
Where: Outside Royal Festival Hall and the London Eye on the Southbank.


#4 | Bond Street Christmas Lights

With a number of designer jewelers lining the edges of Bond Street, it’s no wonder that they want the street to look extra sparkly come Christmas time. This year, Bond Street will be welcoming back their iconic, peacock feather lights for a third year in a row.

Check out the jazziest Christmas lights that London has to offer in one of the coolest fashion streets in the city. As well as an official light switch on, there will also be a Christmas party and shopping event, with late closing and discounts on well-known brands.
