After having to cancel last minute last year due to the dreaded Covid, Poplar Union are excited to finally bring you Poplar Picnic; an annual, community festival in Bartlett Park celebrating everything Poplar!
This free, family-friendly event has been organised in partnership with Well One, an organisation that aims to positively impact the health and wellbeing of local residents at scale through outreach, events and festivals such as this! With a range of activities across wellbeing and creativity, this day festival hopes to show local people the range of incredible resources and opportunities available in the area to get involved in.
From Poplar Union, they’ll be hosting an outdoor stage, showcasing some incredible artists and musicians from East London. Alongside the stage, there’ll be a range of market stalls run by local makers, creatives and organisations displaying their wares and informing attendees of the work they do. Their partner café, e5 Poplar Bakehouse will be serving their delicious lunch menu and keeping you refreshed throughout the day with their on-site ground coffee! Plus, there will be some local food vendors where you can pick up some cheap eats. And did we mention the canal fun they have in store?! Moo Canoes will be running free taster paddle boarding sessions on the Limehouse Cut canal throughout the day on a first come first served basis, so don’t delay, sign up on the day and get on the water!
This is just a teaser of what to expect on the day and we hope to see you there with your friends, families, and dogs for a day in the sun, celebrating everything that’s great in this hidden part of East London we call Poplar!
