How did Broke in London begin…
So you may be following Broke in London for quite a while but you may have never heard our story, right? You may be also wondering who we are and why we are giving you these amazingly helpful tips, or you may not, but we’re going to tell you anyway! This is the story behind Broke in London, maybe some of you can relate.
It was October 2011, when Manolis started with the typical graduated student status, i.e. broke with nowhere to live. He was house-hopping from one friend to another, spending all the time and energy he had trying to find a decent job and affordable accommodation. So one day he was on his way back back from the local cheap fruit and veg market to go to his friend Panagiotis’s house and he received a message from Liila who has found a new love with the Zodiac and star-signs. All excited she wrote him that she has read his horoscope and that’s when all started… ‘you have to take advantage of this dismal period of life and transform it into something creative and resourceful…’ she said.
This is when Manolis came up with the idea of sharing all the information he has gathered through house and job hunting.

He decided to stop searching for a while and write down every website and resource he had found. At first he thought this would be an easy task but my God London is a big place and there are a heck of a lot of job boards, accommodation websites and thousands of websites that provide good deals and important information for those who are counting pennies and shaping CVs. So he tried to find the cream of the crop info and provide you with a useful website that has all the information you will ever need. However, he soon realised that he wouldn’t be able to cope all by himself and he decided to form a team and all the good people of Broke in London these past 3 years made this website come true!
